Chapter 2: Verse 68-69
Subject: Steady Intellect
विषय: स्थिर चित्त
तस्माद्यस्य महाबाहो निगृहीतानि सर्वशः।
इन्द्रियाणीन्द्रियार्थेभ्यस्तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता॥२-६८॥
Therefore, O mighty armed (Arjuna) steady is the intellect of a person whose sense-organs, being withdrawn from their respective sense-object, are completely under complete control.
Lesson: It is essential for a steady intellect to exercise control on sense-organs, having withdrawn from their respective object.
इसलिए हे महाबाहो! जिस पुरुष की इन्द्रियां इन्द्रियों के विषयों में सब प्रकार निग्रह की हुई हैं, उसी की बुध्दि स्थिर है। ॥६८॥

विषय: स्थितप्रज्ञ योगी
या निशा सर्वभूतानां तस्यां जागर्ति संयमी।
यस्यां जाग्रति भूतानि सा निशा पश्यतो मुनेः॥२-६९॥
This Self-controlled person , who has realized the everlasting pure element of Self, keeps awake when it is night for other beings. When other persons remain wakeful for transient and perishable worldly pleasures, this sage has night to perceive the eternal truth (the Reality).
Lesson: One who is deep rooted in the material world is ignorant to the world of perception intensely enjoyed and lived by a metaphysician of steady intellect.
सम्पूर्ण प्राणियों के लिए जो रात्रि के समान है, उस नित्य ज्ञानस्वरूप परमानन्द की प्राप्ति में स्थितप्रज्ञ योगी जागता है और जिस नाशवान सांसारिक सुख की प्राप्ति में सब प्राणी जागते हैं, परमात्मा के तत्व को जाननेवाले मुनि के लिए वह रात्रि के समान है। ॥६९॥
सत्य है।
सत्य वचन।
